Faced with a powerful something or other that she can't handle herself, she gets her hosts to call the exorcists, even though he tried to kill her in the first place 3 years back at the start. (they're literally the only other 'people' she knows, Raziel and the Priest run a commercial exorcism business called "Great Beyond") So when they get there, they obviously think they've been called to just try and kill Neri off again. Angels and Demons are physically unable to talk to one another, they speak different languages. They technically speak the same, but there's restrictions in place that angels' can't understand demons because of...well...reasons. So Neri can't tell him what's going on; and inevitbly just invited more people to the fight that attack her.
Eventually Raziel starts getting the hint that maaayyybe the demon trying to abduct the small child might be the greater foe. Though by that time he's already proven himself pretty useless, and Neri still has to face something about forty times her size on her own. understandably, she's kinda pissed.
This image/ section happens in chapter 6. I'm happy you guys like these OC character story blips! The response of new readers fills me with INCREDIBLE HERCULEAN VIGOR to keep trying to get this published. It also inspired me to change my offical FA status on here from Digital Artist, to Writer. Because to be honest, that's how this whole creative train started anyways and I'd be lying to call myself anything else.
Another dumb doodle! This one was about 2.5 hours, though. I didn't realize till the end that the full size of this is 800 x 1000. AH WELL, TIS JUST A DOODLE.
Is the name Raziel, by any chance, derived from Izrael? I stumbled across the name while looking up information on Darksiders 2. It's one of the many different names attached to Death, which is found in almost every religion out there.
I always figured her size was exaggerated in the beginning to mirror their terror. Fear does things to your head. And the way it describes her moving around in buildings implies a much smaller creature. True there's the whole ethereal, ghostly aspect, but except for that incident with the talking toy it doesn't seem to factor in as much as it should.
In fact, on the subject of that toy they moved through a doorway. If they had been so oblivious in their excitement they would've gone through a wall, and it would've smashed against the wall instead of the doorframe.
Ugh, I have to read through this story again. I don't even remember half of what happens. I only remember that part with the toy because I found it to be hillarious at the time.
