Just keep poking him Neri, he's fiiiiine.
Chapter 12 animation out of the first book- read it all here: [link]
So i've submitted this novel to 50+ literary agents- if i do get replies back, and if they're not cookiecutter "fuck yo novel, but come check out these lovely reads that I HAVE published" return letters, the comments on why this novel is declined are generally the same - "this isn't right genre of novel for us" I'm submitting to namely paranormal, action-based agents too. They exist.
The book market today, especially for new writers, is exceptionally bleak. People do not spend money- and if they do, they spend it on novels from well-published and established authors, as it's less likely to suck and be a waste of money, in thier minds. Lit agents know this. Trying to submit a novel, AND get it picked up, has been calculated to far under 1%, no matter how perfect or interesting your novel may be.
It's been 2 years doing it this route. So i'm trying a new idea.
I've wanted to bring this novel to life in animations for... a long, long time, and I've already got the first chapter thumbnailed out. It's not going to be the prettiest thing, as I am not a full production studio, and more importantly, incredibly poor and unable to deviate from my commission schedule. Alongside this, If it still goes a while without a bite of any sort to get it published, I'll probably just turn it into an illustrated novel, and release fully illustrated chapters one at a time and do that for about 86 years, lol.
I've got a youtube account set up: [link]
to host these videos- they'll be set to music, and will generally tell the story without words. Hopefully this'll convince someone to give me a shot.
I don't want money out of this, i just want to tell a story i've worked ridiculously hard on. I'd die a very happy person that way.
I've been wanting to do full animations for...such an ungodly long time, but always ran into the same issues- time and ability. Being the only person working on them, something relatively short like: [link]
(extremely old flash i did back in 2008 - this character is actually the same one in there, lol, except she had annoying shin-clone ears) - took me 3 months of substantial animating. In flash. I ...kinda hate flash.
This here took me a few hours... probably about 4-5 in total, and it's all photoshop. Hopefully this'll work out. Fingers crossed.
